Evangelist Shevelle Ford is a multifaceted leader, spiritual guide, and advocate, playing a central role in the ministry of Higher Grounds International Worship Center in Plaquemine, Louisiana. As the co-founder and Chief Executive Administrator, she supports her husband, Bishop Joseph “AJ” Ford, in leading a congregation that emphasizes spiritual growth, community service, and empowerment.

Born as the youngest of ten children in Phoenix, Louisiana, Shevelle is the daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Percy Murphy Griffin and Irene Williams Griffin. Her upbringing in a deeply faith-centered household laid the foundation for her lifelong dedication to ministry.

Shevelle pursued higher education at Xavier University in New Orleans, where she earned her degree in Pharmacy in 1993. She has utilized her professional expertise to establish a unique pharmacy ministry, offering free home delivery of prescriptions across Louisiana. This initiative reflects her passion for serving both the physical and spiritual needs of her community.

In addition to her professional achievements, Shevelle served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Inactive Ready Reserves, further exemplifying her commitment to leadership and service.

A gifted speaker and aspiring author, First Lady Ford preaches the Word of God with passion, inspiring individuals to strengthen their faith and live purposeful lives. She is also a skilled cook with aspirations of opening her own restaurant, showcasing her creativity and love for bringing people together.

She and Bishop Ford are proud parents of two children, Trinity and Joseph Anthony Jr., and together they continue to advance the vision of their ministry: “Advancing the Kingdom by the Power of God.” First Lady Ford’s life is a testament to her faith, dedication, and unwavering commitment to uplifting others.
